Gold fever has struck Langley and it leads to murder in the annual Langley Murder Weekend Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25 and 26.

As the story goes, just as gold prices reach historic highs, a quiet stranger wanders into town with a pocket full of gold nuggets. Everyone wants to know where he made his strike but the man isn’t talking.

When his mud-covered body is found in the city park, the search is on for the killer and the gold and it’s up to visitors to help solve the mystery.

Each year, Langley experiences a murder most grand, Langley-style. The tiny seaside village can use all the help it can get to solve this latest and most mysterious of the ongoing series of February murders.

The Langley Visitor Information Center, located at 208 Anthes Ave., is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The coroner delivers his report at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Langley Park. On Sunday, the visitor center is open 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. At 4:30 p.m. the murderer is revealed at Langley Middle School.

Prizes are awarded in a drawing of all entries whether or not the murderer is correctly identified.
