It’s Thriller day for Coupeville

It’s infected Oak Harbor and today, it’s heading for Coupeville. You may hear the screamers before you see them, but look out for the dancing zombie horde near the Coupeville Wharf beginning at noon today, March 17.

“Thrill the Island” is a massive music video produced by Oak Harbor High School’s Show Choir and Media Arts students. The video is based on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video and involves students and community members dressed as zombies dancing to “Thriller.”

The students’ 15-minute video will show what can happen when a car full of teens encounters “something evil lurking in the dark.”

Filming began last Saturday on Pioneer Way in Oak Harbor and now it’s Coupeville’s turn to be the star.

Starting at noon, a school busload of about 50 zombies and a video crew of 10 will arrive in town with plans to film a big dance number on the historic wharf and possibly other locations over two and one-half hours.

For more information on the production, contact Chris Douthitt, video production teacher at Oak Harbor High School, at 360-279-5808.
