Military Appreciation Picnic slated for Sept. 10

The Navy League will host the 20th Annual Whidbey Island Military Appreciation Picnic.

In partnership with the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, the Navy League of the United States, Oak Harbor Area Council, will host the 20th Annual Whidbey Island Military Appreciation Picnic from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. The event is located next to the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce on State Route 20.

The family-friendly Military Appreciation Picnic will be open to the public. It features premier Alabama-style BBQ and hot dogs, plus various free food and drinks, live music, kid’s games and other family fun.

Whidbey Island, and the community at large, wish to honor active-duty personnel and their families with this token of gratitude. They are important. Their services, plus their many contributions to the community and nation, are very much appreciated.

This annual picnic is supported and sponsored by the widest possible representation of industry, regional and local businesses, elected leaders, volunteers and other Whidbey Island and Skagit citizens.

Navy League looks to surpass previous attendance and community support records. We encourage participation, sponsorship, and volunteers from the community.

There is no cost to attend. For additional information, please contact the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce at (360) 675-3755 or visit the websites at either www.oakharbornavyleague.org or www.oakharborchamber.com.
