Joe Cook, minister, Sunday morning sermons will tie into the reading plan along with his Sunday Bible class at 11 a.m. Worship service begins at 9:30 a.m.
A particularly Anglican service
A Choral Evensong will be sung Sunday, June 5, at 5 p.m. by the Choristers of St. Augustine’s in the Woods, Marion Anderson director joined by the Choristers of Epiphany Episcopal Seattle, Carol Foster director.
Evensong is the most particularly Anglican service in all of Christian worship. During the last century, Evensong as a service has emerged as a liturgy of rare and mystical beauty in which the Word is illuminated by music.
The Choristers are young singers, spanning the ages of third grade and up, who rehearse weekly and sing once a month. The public is welcome to experience this beautiful musical service at the church, 5217 S. Honeymoon Bay Road in Freeland.
How does prayer work?
“The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick,” wrote Mary Baker Eddy, “is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God; a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love.” This is from her textbook on Christian healing, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

The Heart of Islam
Jamal Rahman will be the speaker at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Sunday, June 5 at 10 a.m. Rahman’s passion lies in interfaith community building. He remains rooted in his Islamic tradition yet cultivates a “spaciousness” by being open to the beauty and wisdom of other faiths. He is cofounder and co-minister at Interfaith Community Church in Seattle and is adjunct faculty at Seattle University.
