St. Stephen’s lenten program
Everyone is welcome to the 2011 Lenten Program at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 555 SE Regatta Drive, Oak Harbor. The Rev. Dennis Taylor, RN, Deacon and Faith Community Nurse will present: “Healthy People, Healthy Church, Healthy Society: A Study For Congregations during four sessions in Lent,” Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Miller Hall on April 3 and 10. The program was developed by two priests and offered by the National Episcopal Health Ministries as a way for people to engage in dialogue about health. Methodists address Jesus
Jesus is believed to have died at the age of 33 after a life of approximately 12,000 days. The Gospel writers devoted most of their work to just 1,100 or so of those days, the last three years of his life; and their primary interest was in one particular day—the day he was crucified. They believe this 24 hour period changed the world, and each of the Gospels drives toward it.

Easter season in Coupeville
The Coupeville United Methodist Church choir will perform a cantata for the Palm Sunday service on April 17. On April 21 a traditional Holy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m., featuring an encore of the cantata by the popular choir. Sunrise service will be held at beautiful Sunnyside Cemetery overlooking Ebey’s Prairie and Puget Sound at 7:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 24, followed by a complimentary breakfast at the church. The Bible 400 years ago
In commemoration of the 400th Anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible, 1611 to 2011 (www.marybakereddylibrary.com) is presenting programs about the Bible. Church signs up preschool kids
Registration for the 2011-2012 school year at His Kids Preschool is now taking place at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church.
Classes available are on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. with $125 tuition per month; or Thursday and Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with $85 tuition per month. Art and Spirituality
Spirituality and art are like the chicken and the egg – neither can exist without the other and it’s impossible to know which came first.
Three members of UUCWI will briefly consider how art informs their worship and vice-versa. Carlos Xavier will be the special musician. How to live in abundance
The presentation “Living in Abundance,” will be given Tuesday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at Skagit Valley College Hayes Hall, Room 137, Oak Harbor. Childcare will be provided.
Evan Mehlenbacher, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, will teach about spiritual abundance and its benefits. “Come and explore how true abundance starts not with a larger pay check, but with spiritual mindedness,” he said.
