For those who don’t learn from general writing workshops or want to address particular writing issues, Molly Cook’s Skylark Writing Studio is offering custom designed writing workshops.
Groups of up to eight can host workshops with Cook on their own schedule for a flat fee.
“I heard from many adult students that the traditional academic classroom model just wasn’t working for them. Adults on the island have busy lives and can’t always make a commitment for six or eight week classes on somebody else’s schedule. And with so much happening on the island, one-day weekend workshops are really a shot in the dark, competing with at least half a dozen other events,” Cook said.
Cook is also introducing a literary performance and entertainment component to Skylark. Drawing on her theater background, Cook will provide tailored readings for fundraisers, events, parties and more.
For writers who can’t make it to classes at all, Cook offers an electronic workshop.
