In celebration of HOPE Therapeutic Riding School’s 25 years of service, Payless Food in Freeland donated a $250 gift certificate and ten $25 gift certificates for a fundraising raffle.
Debbie Wilkie won the $250 prize — although not for long. A couple of days after winning, the certificate was stolen from her purse while she was working. There was a happy ending, however. Payless staff were able to void the old gift certificate and reissue a new one.
As a nonprofit, donations to the raffle keep HOPE able to offer programs to address the needs of people of all ages who are facing a broad range of challenges, including physical, cognitive and emotional.
For the past 25 years, HOPE has helped students achieve greater mobility, self-confidence and social skills.
