Garry Oak Gallery and Kit’s Camera are holding a Digital Photo Contest for Whidbey Island students. The contest, “Life on Whidbey,” is open now and entries will be accepted until Sept. 24.

All photos must be taken on Whidbey Island and be accompanied by a short description of why the image represents an aspect of life on Whidbey to that person. Applications are available at Garry Oak Gallery, Kit’s Camera and at www.garryoakgallery.com. Students can enter up to three times, one photograph per entry. Entries will be divided into three categories: K through 5th grade, 6th to 8th grade and 9th to 12th grade. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at Garry Oak Gallery’s Second Anniversary Celebration, 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct 1. The winning entries will be displayed at City Hall, Kit’s Camera, Whidbey Bank and Garry Oak Gallery.
