The Writer Association’s Saturday Series of workshops for March features noted screenwriter Wally Lane, an award winning filmmaker, published poet and board member of the Northwest Screenwriters Guild.
On Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Coupeville Library, Lane will be teach Screenwriting 101: How to Begin and How to Write to Industry Standards. Participants will prepare a script for review on May 26 at a follow-up workshop. Cost of each workshop is $75 for association members and $90 for non-members.
Lane’s workshop, Screenwriting for Teens (13-18) will be held on Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church Fireside Room in Freeland. This is a hands-on class in which participants will create the beginnings of a real screenplay. Lane will schedule a First Act Evaluation workshop later in the spring giving students an opportunity to share and receive feedback on their work.
