The World War II drama “The Cover of Life” will open at the Whidbey Playhouse on Friday, Feb. 5, and tickets are on sale now.

The play tells the story of three young wives who come to live with their mother-in-law, Aunt Ola, while their husbands are at war. The brothers have each joined a different branch of the service, and a reporter from Life Magazine picks up their story.

When reporter Kate Miller comes to get the scoop on each of the women, she finds it’s not the piece of cake story she predicted. The girls each have their own story to tell, and not all is as it appears.

Both comedic and tragic, the Whidbey Playhouse does not recommend the play for children.

“The Cover of Life” is directed by Rusty Hendrix and was written by R.T. Robinson.

Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office, located at 730 SE Midway Blvd. in Oak Harbor. They are $16 each. Please call 360-679-2237, or visit whidbeyplayhouse.com
