Deception Pass Bridge got a heavy dose of the 12th man Saturday as approximately 150 Seattle Seahawks fans held a rally on and around the bridge.
Fans gathered at the iconic bridge to show their support for the region’s playoff-bound NFL team.
Many of the fans were from Whidbey Island.
Another “12’s” rally is being planned for noon Sunday, Jan. 5, on the Coupeville Wharf.
The rallies are being promoted by Kory Dyer, a 2002 Oak Harbor High School graduate who works at the China City restaurant in Oak Harbor.
Drea Park, who attended the rally decked out in Seahawks garb, said plans are underway to start Whidbey Island’s own Seahawks booster club.
The Seahawks defeated the St. Louis Rams, 27-9, Sunday to win the NFC West Division and secure home field throughout the playoffs.
Seattle (13-3) earned a first-round playoff bye with the victory and is considered one of the favorites to earn a trip to the Super Bowl.
