A little gossip goes a long way
Whidbey Island Center for the Arts opens 2012 with the 1987 Off-Broadway comedy-drama “Steel Magnolias,” running through Feb. 25.
Directed by Tim Rarick, “Steel Magnolias” takes place in a beauty parlor in Louisiana and revolves around six different women, illustrating how their lives are interwoven via the small town gossip that shadows the ongoing cycles of birth, marriage and death.
Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and military and $12 for youth and are available by calling 360-221-8268 or 800-638-7631.
