Wag ‘n’ Walk at Greenbank Farm on Aug. 23 was a wonderful event. There were hundreds of smiling dogs, as well as their people and even some cats! This celebration of dogs, put on by Whidbey Animals’ Improvement Foundation (WAIF) and OldDog Haven, was so successful because of the collaboration between and the generosity of so many.
Many, many thanks to all the volunteers who worked so hard all day. You set-up, parked cars, ran the games, walked dogs, filled water bowls, registered participants and helped clean. This event certainly would not have been possible without all of you. Thank you so much. You all looked terrific in your blue Wag ‘n’ Walk T-shirts.
We also thank all the vendors who came and set up booths to promote an organization or to sell a product. You made the day full and interesting. Glad you remembered to bring your weights to hold down the tents!
Sincere thanks to our sponsors whose generosity made the event possible: Surety Pest Control, Coldwell Banker/Deborah Jones, Whidbey Marketplace, Whidbey Telecom, Joyful Dog Training, KRKO Radio, Custom Landscape Solutions, Daniel Jones, Grandma Lucy’s, Home Depot, Island Home Nursing, Island Spa & Garden Services, J.H. Husband Engineering, K-Dub Designs/Karen White, Sensaria Natural Body Care/Sine Hough, Skagit Farmers Supply, Trinity Lutheran College, Waterman Self Storage, and Whidbey Island Bank.
Finally, we thank everyone who came and enjoyed the day. See you next year on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at Greenbank Farm.
