Abide by the dog leash law

This morning I had to gently chase off a sweet, male, yellow Lab who had wandered onto my property for the umpteenth time. Mind you, this is not the only dog I have seen roaming alone, it just happened to be the one that got my attention today.

My complaint is having to clean up other dog owners’ pet excrement from my property. There is an Island County leash-law in effect until you reach an off-leash area, and violators can be subject to a fine upwards to $500. I don’t wish this to happen to anyone. All I am asking is that dog owners become more aware and monitor the whereabouts of their own pets.

I will end this little rant by asking pet owners to please be courteous to your fellow neighbor by not allowing your pet to roam freely off your property onto someone else’s.
