The North Whidbey Little League 10/11 all-star baseball team came up one game short of earning a berth in the state tournament.

North Whidbey, coached by Ken Harrison, fought through the consolation bracket of the District 11 tournament at Rhododendron Park but couldn’t stop Anacortes in the championship game Saturday, July 9, losing 11-4.

Behind a strong pitching performance by Jacob Figarelle, North Whidbey knocked off previously unbeaten Anacortes 4-0 Friday to force a second game Saturday.
