Anti-Obama signs are just disrespectful | Letter

Editor,

I find it extremely sad that I can’t go to Oak Harbor’s official federal government post office without being subjected to huge photos of America’s much-loved President Barack Obama defiled with Hitler mustaches and the word “impeach” in giant letters.

I was no great fan of President George W. Bush and his pre-emptive wars, but I would never, ever disrespect any United States president in such a way.

I joined a group that picketed for peace on the corner of Coupeville’s Main Street and Highway 20 prior to 2008, but none of us would publicly deface an American president this way.

It not only disrespects the very office of the presidency, it disrespects the entire American government.

Yes, we all know the federal government needs major fixing … but it is certainly not one man’s fault.

And this mud-slinging fest is not the way.
