Arlington scored nine runs in the first inning on the way to defeating the visiting Oak Harbor High School softball team 14-1 in five innings Thursday, May 5.
The first 11 Eagles reached base in the big first inning when Arlington (9-6, 9-9) used five hits, two walks and four errors to get the early jump on the Wildcats.
Oak Harbor’s only run came in the fifth inning when Alexa Findley singled, moved to second on a passed ball then scored on an error by the Eagle third baseman.
Audrey Howard, Shea Davis and Taylor Heidt also registered hits for the Wildcats.
Oak Harbor (3-5, 5-12) plays a crossover game against Shorewood (3-13) of the Wesco South at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Meridian Park.
