“Sunday at the Farm” is Greenbank Farm’s name for the its fresh spring vision of family fun at the farm. Sitting at the heart of Whidbey Island, its natural location offers meadow and woods walks, wetland wildlife, livestock viewing and spectacular vistas of both the Cascades and Olympics. Playground, picnic areas, gardens and a duck pond add to the idyllic setting. The three art galleries at Greenbank, the Whidbey Pie Cafe, Greenbank Cheese & Gifts and tastings at the wine shop offer enjoyable options.

Vendors have been invited to sell their homegrown or homemade wares on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Sunday market. This market is managed by vendors as volunteers. There are no long-term contracts or requirements to show up weekly.

Those wanting to set up a booth/table should check in with the volunteer coordinator, sign a daily agreement to the rules of the market and self manage. Electricity is available for a small charge. A donation of 10 percent of day’s sales will be used by the farm for site support, advertising and entertainment.

As the season progresses, the Greenbank Farm will sell its produce and other farmers are always welcome to sell as their yield allows.

Children under 18 are welcome to bring their homemade, non-food products for sale. The items for sale must be made by the child. They are responsible for their own space and equipment but no percentage is owed the Farm.

“Our hope is to see families spending the day out on the lawns, exploring, playing, picnicking and taking away memories of their special times here on the Farm,” said Faith Wilder, Greenbank Farm board chairman of events. “The volunteer vendor market contributes to a legacy of homemade, homegrown products which is so much a part of Whidbey’s character and charm.”
