HABITAT FOR HUMANITY of Island County is breaking ground on the future site of its first multi-family unit. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at 1779 SE 10th Avenue in Oak Harbor, along Regatta Drive.
ISLAND COUNTY is the most heavily insured county in Washington state, according to SmartAsset.com, an online financial-information website. Fully 85 percent of the the county’s residents have car insurance, 90.8 percent have health insurance and 23.5 percent have life insurance, for an “overall coverage index” of 40.2 percent, the website said. The county ranked only 2,237th nationally, however. Lincoln County, in South Dakota, ranked number one nationally, with scores of 91.6, 95 and 71.2, respectively.
