Campaign mailers are not a joking matter

I thought this was a joke, but now it’s not funny any longer. For the third day in a row I’ve received campaign literature from Barbara Bailey’s campaign against Mary Margaret Haugen.

I thought this was a joke, but now it’s not funny any longer.

For the third day in a row I’ve received campaign literature from Barbara Bailey’s campaign against Mary Margaret Haugen.

The first statement made claims that Sen. Haugen had voted three times against our public interest to override the two-thirds majority initiative and waste our tax dollars. The real facts are that the initiative has been declared unconstitutional by our state Supreme Court. You cannot change the state Constitution by initiative.

I got to know Barbara Bailey at her public forums. Her main focus was to sell the public that we needed to restrict your rights when you or your family have suffered poor medical care. She wants to limit what you can receive for that malpractice. I lost my first wife when she passed away at 29 years of age after questionable medical treatment. Barbara Bailey wasn’t interested in people like me; she was focused on helping to protect insurance companies.

Barbara Bailey has been the most useless state representative we’ve had in decades.

She has accomplished almost nothing except to be a cog, vote, against progress with reforms to the funding of our education system. The headline of her latest brochure claims, “She’s one of US.” That couldn’t be farther from the truth. I’ve lived on Whidbey Island 35 years; Bailey is a newcomer with little or no understanding of the people in our district.

Please support Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, She IS one of us, and has done a exemplary job of representing our communities. Not like the special interests Bailey panders to.
