One lane of Highway 20 on Central Whidbey Island near the Outlying Field was closed Tuesday afternoon due to a car accident.
At approximately 3 p.m., the driver of a southbound Chrysler convertible was trying to make a left turn from Highway 20 onto Morris Road when a Chevrolet Aveo crashed into the car, said Trooper Jesse Greene with the Washington State Patrol.
Two people were in the Chrysler at the time of the collision and one of them were complaining of back and neck pain, said Chad Michael with Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue.
One engine, a command unit, paramedics and a basic life support unit responded to the accident.
Traffic alternated over the remaining lane of Highway 20 while emergency personnel responded to the accident.
