No one was injured when a car went into a ditch near the corner of Penn Cove and Monroe Landing roads Wednesday morning.
Holly Mason, the driver of a sports utility vehicle, said she was reaching for her drink when her car went over the side of the road around 11 a.m.
“I literally just went to get something to drink and I slid off the road,” Mason said. “The more I tried to correct it, the worse it got.”
North Whidbey Fire and Rescue and the Island County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Ambulance services weren’t needed, and Deputy Lane Campbell said they were simply waiting for the tow truck.
Mason said she couldn’t see any damage to her vehicle, but she could only see one side of the car.
