There were no witnesses to the fatal crash on E. Fakkema Road Thursday, May 20, which leaves police little to work from in their investigation of the incident.
“This might even be a situation where we don’t even know for sure,” Sgt. Longoria said of what could have caused the crash.
Speed doesn’t appear to be a factor because of the short distance involved in the crash scene, he said, adding that it looked as if the 1987 Nissan Maxima driven by Kenneth Lange, 88, just drifted off the roadway.
Longoria is still waiting for a few reports from Washington State troopers who investigated the scene. So far the investigation has been inconclusive.
Lange died early in the morning on Friday, May 21 from “numerous internal injuries,” including blunt force trauma to his head, neck an torso, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
