Central Whidbey nonprofit fair set for Saturday

The Coupeville Farmers Market will once again host the Central Whidbey Nonprofit Fair Saturday, Sept. 19.

The Coupeville Farmers Market will once again host the Central Whidbey Nonprofit Fair Saturday, Sept. 19.

Put on by the Town of Coupeville, the nonprofit fair offers residents an opportunity to explore Central Whidbey’s variety of nonprofit groups.

Organizer Molly Hughes, who serves on Coupeville Town Council, as president of Gifts From the Heart Food Bank and as a Coupeville Lions, said she’s expecting about 30 nonprofits to attend.

Booths will be set up in coordination with the farmers market and guests can visit booths where the various organizations will have information on services, programs and activities they offer.

“If you’re old or new, this is a great opportunity to check out the services the nonprofits provide,” Hughes said.

The annual event also offers an opportunity for networking for all of the community groups.

“They love hearing what each other is doing,” Hughes said.

Participants can enter a raffle by visiting five booths and getting signed off to enter to win a $100 drawing. New this year, there will also be a $25 kids drawing for ages 15 and younger.

Guests can enter multiple times, by visiting as many booths as possible, Hughes said.

So stop on by 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Community Green behind the library.
