Coupeville High School tennis coach Ken Stange tweaked his lineup for the regular season finale and the fine-tuning helped.

The Wolves drubbed Friday Harbor 5-0 Friday, Oct. 5, in Coupeville.

Stange said he tried some different combinations to get ready for district and the Wolves dominated, completing the sweep in only 90 minutes.

“All of the boys were solid…the new pairs were productive,” he said.

The lineup changes came in doubles, and all three Coupeville pairs won in straight sets: 1, Ben Etzell/Ben Wehrman won 6-0, 6-2; 2, Jason Knoll/Brian Norris won 6-3, 6-0; and 3, Dawson d’Almeida/Shane Squire won 6-2, 6-2.

Nathan Lamb took first singles 6-1, 6-3; and Aaron Curtin won by default in second singles.

The Wolves (4-4) and South Whidbey will go to Friday Harbor Saturday, Oct. 13, for the district tournament.
