Come help walk dogs at WAIF | Letter

Editor,

Although there seem to be a good number of people at volunteer orientations at the Coupeville shelter, actual dog walkers don’t often match that number.

Possibly someone checks the website and sees only five or six dogs listed. But there are sometimes others not yet on the website for various reasons.

This week, 18 dogs were available for walking, and most days some were not lucky enough to get out of their kennel for a walk or play time in the exercise yard. This is an important step in keeping the dogs adoptable until that perfect home opens up.

If you are a qualified dog walker, the dogs need you. If you aren’t, you can contact the shelter for information about becoming one.
