We would publicly like to express our most sincere and grateful appreciation to the people who came to our aid Sunday afternoon, July 11.
We were traveling home to Abbotsford, B.C., from our property south of Coupeville when we had a flat tire on our camperized van. The first person to help us was a young lady, who lent us her cell phone to call our U.S. neighbour, Paul Jones. He immediately came to our assistance but neither of us had an adequate jack. Before long, two other vehicles stopped and three young men politely and efficiently soon had us roadworthy.
We know that two of the young men are in the military and suspect the third one is also. We would like them to know how very much their willingness to stop and help two senior citizens from Canada warmed our hearts. As a result of their kindness we have pledged to pay it forward by being more conscientious in our effort to help others that appear to be in need of assistance.
