The Coupeville High School soccer team will be seeking more than revenge when it hosts Port Townsend at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in the regular season finale.
The Redhawks squeaked by the Wolves 1-0 Tuesday in Port Townsend, setting both team’s league records at 2-3.
The two teams are tied for second place behind Klahowya (6-0, 14-1) in the Olympic League 1A standings and have qualified for the playoffs.
The winner of Thursday’s match, however, will secure a home match in the first round of the district tournament.
The second-place Olympic League team will entertain the third-place Nisqually League team (currently Vashon Island, 4-4) Saturday, Nov. 1.
The third-place Olympic team will have to travel to the Nisqually League’s second-place team’s field; Bellevue Christian (4-3-1) was in second as of Thursday.
Those first-round matches are loser-out; the following rounds are double-elimination. Two teams from the six-team tournament will advance.
