An 11-4 drubbing of visiting Chimacum Saturday, April 30, sewed up a spot in the postseason for the Coupeville High School soccer team.
The Wolves (2-3, 5-7-1) finish the regular and conference season at Klahowya (5-0, 13-1-1) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3.
Win or lose, Coupeville is locked into the Olympic League No. 3 seed for the playoffs. It will take the field in a district tournament play-in, loser-out match with the Nisqually No. 4 team — either Bellevue Christian (5-7) or Seattle Christian (4-6-1) — in Oak Harbor Thursday, May 5.
Saturday’s win over Chimacum was the second time this season that the Wolves scored in double digits against the Cowboys (0-5, 1-11). They beat Chimacum 10-1 April 21.
Ethan Spark led the latest onslaught of goals, driving home four for the Wolves. Abraham Leyva Elenes added two.
Single goals were tallied by Zack Nall, Zane Bundy, Andre Avila, William Nelson and Cody Menges.
