South Whidbey began the 2015 season by powering past host Coupeville 3-0 Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The Falcons won 25-6, 25-6, 25-14.
“We struggled to get into a flow on the court and let errors control us early on,” Coupeville coach Breanne Smedley said. “We had bright spots throughout the match but couldn’t string those moments together to make an impact. We have a clear focus of what we need to work on, and the girls are determined to improve as our season continues.”
Valen Trujillo finished with eight digs and Kyla Briscoe had two kills and a block to lead Coupeville.
The Wolves (0-1) ferry to Friday Harbor (0-0) for a 4 p.m. non-league match Thursday, Sept. 10.
