Education in the Coupeville Public Schools is not “fully funded” by the state of Washington and needs your support to fund a wide variety of activities and programs. The operation and maintenance levy will not increase taxes, as it is a continuation of the levy passed four years ago.

The continuation levy supports a wide variety of coaches and activities such as History Day, Hi Q, Chess Club, the Spelling and Geography Bee and sports to name a few. It supplements the purchase of classroom text books, supports staff development, and the technology specialist who maintains the computers and the computer network.

Having taught for 30 plus years, I know how important it is to have as low a student-teacher ratio as possible. Having educational assistants in the classroom allows the teachers the ability to focus on inidividual students or small groups, which would not be possible without their help. This levy helps to fund these very important assistants.
