The Coupeville Education Association will protest state budget cuts resulting in furlough days on Friday, Nov. 18, which is the first furlough day of the school year.

The demonstration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be held at Highway 20 and Main Street in Coupeville.

The purpose is to raise awareness that teachers are no longer receiving professional development training and will not be in school working on furlough days.

The CEA will communicate that “enough is enough” and that students cannot be expected to pay the price of additional budget cuts.
