Fittingly, no one won the match that didn’t count.
The Coupeville soccer team met conference foe Port Townsend in a non-league road match, and the contest ended in a 2-2 tie.
The two Olympic League teams added a non-conference match to help fill out their schedules. They meet Oct. 20 and 29 in the matches that count.
Kalia Littlejohn got the Wolves on the board just seconds into the match, then the Redhawks countered with two goals to take the lead.
Sage Renninger scored from long range in the second period to knot the game.
“The Lady Wolves played hard and did their best,” coach Troy Cowan said. “Port Townsend was well coached and played a great match. I am looking forward to seeing them again when the match counts.”
Coupeville (2-2-3) hosts Crosspoint at noon Saturday, Oct. 3.
