The Coupeville High School tennis teams heads into district play this week after dropping a 6-1 match to Archbishop Murphy Friday, Oct. 11, in Everett.

The Wolves head to South Whidbey for the Northwest District 1 tournament at 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 15 and 17. The top two finishers in each event qualify for the quad-district meet.

Friday, Coupeville and Archbishop Murphy used the seven-match format played by larger classifications rather than the normal 1A five-match format.

Coupeville claimed its win in second doubles. Kyle Bodamer and Brian Norris prevailed 7-6(9-7), 6-2.

The Wolves and Wildcats meet in the final regular season match at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Coupeville.
