Pool, parks need support

The John Vanderzicht Memorial Pool and the Clover Valley parks are valuable community assets. The North Whidbey Park & Recreation District maintenance and operation levy provides for repairs and improvements to these park district facilities to keep them safe and useable.

Among the many projects that have already been completed are the fencing and backstop at Clover Valley Baseball and Softball Park. The NWP&RD partnered with FETCH and the county to provide a safe fenced area for dogs and their owners at the Clover Valley Off Leash Park. John Vanderzicht Memorial Pool patrons have benefited from many improvements in the past several years. The new Heating/Ventilation/ Air Conditioning (HVAC) and ozone water treatment systems have dramatically improved the air quality throughout the pool and locker rooms. The new programmable boiler provides appropriate water temperature for the various pool uses from swim lessons and water aerobics to lap swimming.

All new interior lighting has improved visibility and the acoustical panels suspended from the ceiling make it easier for patrons to hear instructions from the pool deck.

Help keep these public facilities in top condition. Vote YES on the Recreation District Levy.
