There were no serious injuries that resulted from a two-car crash on Midway Boulevard Wednesday afternoon. The accident, however, drew plenty of attention for passers-by while the Oak Harbor Fire Department, EMTs and Oak Harbor Police Department tended to the drivers.
Jonn Nuqui, an employee at ClickMusic on Seventh Ave., was tuning a guitar when he heard the accident. Another person in the area at the time of the crash described the sound as a “big boom.”
The two cars collided shortly after 2 p.m.. Jennifer Walker, 32, the driver of a silver Ford Taurus, was headed southbound on Midway Blvd. when she collided with a grey Dodge Caravan, driven by 79-year-old Jaqueline Legg, who attempted to turn from the northbound lane of Midway into the shopping center at the corner of Midway and Seventh Ave., according to Battalion Chief Ray Merrill.
The impact sent the the caravan into the BBQ Joint’s roadside sign, and Legg was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
