With the upcoming annual commemoration of Earth Day on April 22, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has an idea how interested volunteers can lend Mother Nature a helping hand.
State Parks is hoping volunteer organizations will participate in the agency’s Community Partnership Week by providing clean-up and repairs to state parks on Whidbey Island and elsewhere.
“Projects may include trail restoration and enhancement, litter pick-up, facilities repair, clearing weeds and planting native vegetation,” said an April 9 press release from the agency.
