Coupeville Town Council candidate Tom Tack seems to have it all: An illustrious Navy career behind him, a young family he’s raising in town in a historic dwelling he’s restoring and an obvious desire to make Coupeville a more prosperous community without jeopardizing its treasured past. He’s also done his homework, as he’s no stranger at council, planning and budget meetings.
His opponent, Sue Cunningham, could also be a good council member, but she doesn’t have Tack’s broad background in budgeting and leadership. Her main concern is preserving Coupeville’s history, which is something no one can disagree with, and implementing more protective design regulations to that end. Those are fine ideals, but Tack simply brings more to the table when it comes to dealing with other issues, such as sewer, stormwater, streets and all the other things that make a town run smoothly and efficiently. He would make an outstanding member of the Coupeville Town Council.
