Election 2004

Rose sticks to principles

I will be voting for Reece Rose for Island County Commissioner. I am a Republican and Reece has been true to basic Republican principles, such as reduced government spending, and more efficient conduct of government. I have seen this in her newspaper interviews, and from persons who have witnessed her debates with the incumbent.

But political agreement is only one reason I will vote for Reece Rose. We are both vendors at a farmers market, and we are members of South Whidbey Tilth, an organic gardening and sustainable agriculture organization. Through these activities I have attended Tilth council meetings and vendor meetings with Reece. Reece has a pleasant demeanor at meetings, has the ability to stay on point when she makes a proposal, conducts herself with steady conviction and without waver when she shoots for the goal. And If someone tries to flower up the conversation with slight untruths Reece sees through it instantly and she is in her correct that statement mode with great skill and steel determination.

I can’t wait to see her as the new county commissioner.
