Election 2004: Conard has brains, drive

I have been reading the letters to the editor regarding various political candidates with interest because I have been planning on writing this one for some time.

I have been reading the letters to the editor regarding various political candidates with interest because I have been planning on writing this one for some time. I think this is an election year in which we need to stand up and be counted. I consider myself a Democrat but have reserved the right to vote for the best candidate without regard to their political affiliation. Although there are races this year in which I will exercise this discretion, the race for our State Representative is not one of them.

I wholeheartedly support Nancy Conard for this position. When you have a candidate that has the brains, the will and the drive to do a fantastic job, I say jump for joy. So I am jumping in for Nancy Conard.

This woman has more energy than most of us. She puts all that energy to work everyday on behalf of the community she loves. In every instance in which I have knowledge, she has worked to bring people together for the good of the community.

As a business woman, I want to see someone with a solid business background working on problems in Olympia. Nancy has demonstrated over and over again at the school district and in town government how astute and resourceful she is as a manager. She has also demonstrated her ability to stand under pressure. She perseveres with candid honesty and a positive outlook that few can match. We need that in a State Representative!

I believe Nancy is our best hope for responsive, productive representation in Olympia. Her roots are deep here. She will always be looking out for our community. I urge you to vote for Nancy Conard.
