Title 10 of the U.S. Code prohibits the use of military organizations in political campaigning. Messieurs Campbell, Applegate, Lappin, and Sundberg violated that code, and our trust, by identifying themselves as members of the United States Navy when publicly endorsing Linda Riffe (Whidbey News-Times, paid political advertisement, page A3, Oct. 26).

While preparing themselves for a visit by the Navy JAG, they would be well advised to apologize to the entire Whidbey Island U.S. Navy community. There just might be a few thousand of us who don’t agree with their political agendas.
