Editor,

This letter is written in response to the letter to the editor from Michael Eaves in the Aug. 13 edition of the Whidbey News-Times.

We are all very glad you attended this years Pigfest. It was phenomenal on all fronts.

I am an Oak Harbor Soroptimist and have been helping to serve this annual “pig feed” since Scott Fraser started the event six years ago.

I’m sorry you missed the “free food” — which was by donations only for local charities.

Perhaps you missed the location?

My Soroptimist Club helped serve the food until 5:15 p.m., and the only items we ran out of were forks and napkins, and that was at 4:30.

Many thanks to Scott and all the sponsors who helped make this fantastic event so successful.

It was a grand day for the Oak Harbor community.
