Feedback: Don’t call me a Democrat

I’ve been an independent since the day I registered to vote. I didn’t vote for Clinton or Gore and refuse to march in lockstep with any political or religious organization.

I was offended by Bob Wildman’s letter calling me a Democrat. I’ve been an independent since the day I registered to vote. I didn’t vote for Clinton or Gore and refuse to march in lockstep with any political or religious organization. I prefer to think independently and make decisions based on critical thinking.

If he wants to identify me with a political party of the past I’d prefer the Democratic-Republican party of the early 1800’s. They favored a strict interpretation of the constitution to restrict the powers of the federal government while emphasizing states rights.

The current Republican administration can only remain in power because of biased media (i.e. propaganda and lies). Forty-one percent of Americans still believe Saddam had something to do with 9/11. I presume Mr. Wildman is one of them.

I challenge those 41 percent to try sampling some independent media for a taste of truth but am doubtful any will rise to the challenge. The poison they’re consuming is too addictive and easily available.
