Regarding: “Wives remain alone” (News-Times, Jan. 4).

I kindly disagree with the label of “stay-at-home” mom. Mrs. McElroy is nothing of the kind! She is an extremely “stay busy” mom. She is single handedly raising her and her husband’s children while taking care of the house, money, cars and much more.

Dawn comes complete with an amazing resume, including … family manager, financial expert, doctor and nurse combined! She is her children’s best cheerleader, a hand holder, hug dispenser, tear wiper, a super mom and devoted wife. She is also an amazing Sunday School teacher who helps our beautiful twin daughters build a strong foundation for their Christian faith.

Like hundreds of other military spouses, she does what needs to be done and keeps her faith strong and true, while remaining always proud of her husband’s devotion and duty to his country.
