Give Born a chance to make Whidbey General better | Letter

Editor,

In response to Mr. Gunn, Georgia Gardner replied with a half truth in her Sept. 16 letter to the editor of the Whidbey News-Times. Washington state law allows a property tax appellant a preponderance of evidence, more likely than not, appeal decision if the assessor can be shown to have errors in data or methodology.

I have personally demonstrated assessor errors in my own tax appeals before Georgia Gardner, only to have her ignore the law. She denied my appeal, basing her decision upon the presumption that the assessor was correct.

Georgia Gardner was on a power trip. Her demeanor was very bitter. Not someone I would want making decisions in any hospital I might find myself.

Where there’s smoke there’s likely fire. There has been a lot of smoke from Whidbey General.

Let’s give Mr. Born a chance to clean it up.

No more power trips.
