Golfers look strong

Win first match easily over South Whidbey

The Oak Harbor boys golf team used a beautiful day and a home course advantage to run away with its first match of the season Tuesday afternoon.

The Wildcats defeated 3A South Whidbey by nearly 40 strokes in the dual match at Whidbey Golf and Country Club.

“Playing on your home course always helps in the first match,” OHHS head coach John Matzen said. “We are working hard developing our ball striking abilities so we can have the confidence to play away from Whidbey as well.”
