Greenbank Farm will host Central Whidbey’s first Safety Fair noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 14.
First responders and emergency management professionals will provide interactive learning experiences including live demonstrations, informational displays and other family-friendly activities.
Topics of discussion include electric safety and how to prepare for emergency situations, particularly important for those who live in secluded areas of Whidbey Island.
Emergency preparedness education will be provided by representatives from businesses and organizations including Puget Sound Energy, Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue, Island County Sheriff’s Office, The American Red Cross of Northwest Washington, Safe Kids Northwest, Island County Department of Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services at Whidbey General.
Because real-life emergencies may occur at any time, all scheduled appearances at the event are subject to change without notice.
Scheduled vehicle appearances for the Emergency Vehicle Show include a fire engine, ambulances and a patrol car.
Other scheduled activities include live electrical safety demos, fire engine tours, hands-only CPR lessons and bicycle safety.
