The following are events scheduled on the island during this holiday season:
Friday, Dec. 4
HOLIDAY MARKET ON PIONEER WAY, 4-7 p.m., Dec. 4; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Dec. 5; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 6. Peruse the booths of over 20 arts and crafts vendors. The market runs the four weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Santa will make special appearances.
WHIDBEY ALLIED ARTISTS ART AND GIFT SHOW, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Dec. 4-5 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 6, at the Coupeville Rec Hall. Over 20 artists will show and sell a variety of traditional and non-traditional art. A table of ornaments will be available for purchase, the proceeds from which will support Friends of Ebey. CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW, 6-9 p.m daily at 525 Deer Lake Road, Clinton. Drive around the show and look for the hidden owl and other items that come and go during this six week event. Take State Highway 525 to Deer Lake Road, turn south (at the post office) and proceed 1/2 mile to Robin Lane, turn left. Tune your radio and listen to the Christmas Music.

OAK HARBOR’S ONE HECK OF A HOLIDAY RIDE, 11 a.m., Dec. 5, Oak Harbor. Inaugural paddling event hosted by Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce that is open to all human-powered craft, outriggers, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Boats will travel from south of Coupeville to Oak Harbor in long course. $40 entry fee day of the event.
HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS PARADE & HOLIDAY STROLL, 11 a.m. at Sixth Street, Cascade Avenue, First Street, Anthes Avenue and Second Street, Langley. SARATOGA ORCHESTRA performs “Peter and the Wolf,” 1:45 p.m., Dec. 5, in the Coupeville High School Commons. This is a free family-friendly event held in conjunction with the Greening of Coupeville. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with an Instrument Petting Zoo, where musicians will demonstrate instruments and a number of instruments will be available for hands-on experience. LIGHTED BOAT PARADE, 3 p.m., Dec. 5, Oak Harbor Marina. Fleet of lighted, holiday-themed boats will navigate from Oak Harbor to Coupeville and back in event sponsored by the Oak Harbor Yacht Club. Enjoy views from Coupeville Wharf or Flintstone Park in Oak Harbor, which will be lit with tea lights at 6:45 p.m. to welcome the boats back.
GREENING OF COUPEVILLE Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting, 4-5 p.m. starting from Terry Road and South Main Street and ending in downtown. Christmas Caroling and Tree Lighting to follow at Cook’s Corner Park. Go out on the wharf and view the lighted boat parade.
OAK HARBOR TREE LIGHTING, 4-7 p.m., Dec. 5, downtown Oak Harbor. Enjoy tasty treats, sing carols and do some shopping beginning at 4 p.m. Santa will arrive at 5:30 p.m. followed by the tree lighting at 5:45 p.m. Enjoy more holiday caroling and visit with Santa until 7 p.m.

WHIDBEY DEMOCRATS HOLIDAY PARTY, 2 p.m., Dec. 6, at the Whidbey Island Nordic Lodge, Coupeville. Share the holiday spirit with friends and neighbors. The 35 rated Navy musicians perform in various musical units including the Ceremonial and Parade Bands, Popular Music Group, Brass Band, Brass Quintet, woodwind chamber groups and a Protocol Jazz Combo.

HOLIDAY CELEBRATION with the Friends of the Oak Harbor Library, 3 p.m., Dec. 17, at the Oak Harbor Library meeting room. Celebrate the season with friends, food and fun.
