Wow, after many years visiting my mother in Greenbank I hear of the Wonn Road controversy. We always worried about using beach access there because of the no trespassing sign by the old house trailer.
Using Wonn Road beach access is a much shorter distance to my mother’s beach where digging clams over the years has been a much prized activity. My mother and father purchased property in Holmes Harbor Estates in large part for boat launching and beach access. Now, at age 92, and living near Greenbank Store, mom keeps hoping she can get to her beach and it is very difficult for her kids in our 70s to carry all of the tools necessary for clam digging from the Holmes Harbor Estates beach. Access at Wonn Road would be a delight for us.
Mom has told us that high school students were ferried to Everett and supplies brought in from that wharf and I’m sure local historians and preservationists are interested in saving the access as county property. I am wondering how Mr. Montgomery was deeded county beach access property if that is true?
