Kelly Huffer of the North Whidbey Aquatic Club competed in the Pacific Coast All-Star Meet in Langley, B.C., Jan.  7 and 8 as a member of the Pacific Northwest Swim team.

PNS placed third in the five-team meet with 507 points, finishing behind perennial powerhouse Southern California Swimming (966 points) and Pacific Swimming (838).

Huffer swam personal records in five individual events, including dropping 11 seconds in the girls 11-12 400 freestyle (4:50.88) to take 10th place, two seconds in the 100 butterfly (1:12.31) to take 11th place and 12 seconds in the 200 individual medley (2:38.36) to take 13th place.

She also swam on the seventh-place 400 medley relay and eighth-place 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams.

Huffer was one of only 32 PNS swimmers selected from the approximately 2,500 PNS-registered athletes in the 11-12 and 13-14 age groups who competed at this international meet.
